Order Processing-orders placed online will be processed at the start of the next business day. If you have selected a delivery option we will contact you to confirm the details of your delivery to make sure that your expectations are met. Our deliveries are prompt-most orders ship within two days. If you are picking up in-store, we will text you when your order is ready and give you instructions on picking up your order. We may need to increase the total footage purchased on random length items to accommodate your requested lengths, which will result in additional charges. We'll let you know before we do so, of course. The same might apply for shipping charges. Again, we'll be in touch to discuss with you.
Order Cancellation-Stock orders can be cancelled prior to shipment or in-store pickup, but not after. Special order items cannot be cancelled or returned once ordered.
Shipping-We ship on our own trucks in our local delivery area. Please visit our shipping info page for a map and more information. Shipping charges often apply.
Returns-Stock item returns only within 60 days and in new, salable condition. Boxes and packaging must be unopened, sealed and in good condition. Stock material returns may be subject to a handling charge. No returns on any special order items once they are ordered. Special Orders will not be held longer than 12 months from arrival, and after six months will be subject to a storage charge of 0.5% of the order value, or $100 per month, whichever is less. Deposits for Special Orders cannot be retuned once the order is placed.
Payment Processing-payment will be due when the order is completed on-line, and before pickup or delivery. Forms of payment available to you will be visible at the payment processing screen. Please contact us if you need further information on payment processing.
Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability - Warranties for items are issued and maintained by the manufacturer of the item, not Howe Lumber, and Howe Lumber offers no additional warranties in-house, whether implied, specified, or otherwise. Your product may or may not have a warranty. The responsibility lies solely with the purchaser to acquire warranty information, and Howe Lumber keeps no records of any sort of warranty information custody by the purchaser. Any warranty questions or claims should be taken up with the manufacturer, not Howe Lumber.
Product Use - Products must be used in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and in compliance with State and Local codes. Howe Lumber cannot and will not act as a specifying or approval authority for product use. Questions about proper product installation and use should be directed to the manufacturer and local code officials. Use of a product in an unapproved manner may result in product failure, injury, or death. The purchaser assumes all responsibility for proper product use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and State and Local codes.
Building Code - Howe Lumber and Howe Lumber employees are not code officials, and we cannot and will not act as code officials. Only your local code official is a code official, and can offer interpretations and guidance on State and Local Building Codes. We cannot and will not offer interpretations and guidance on State and Local Building Codes.
Engineering - Your project and/or components of your project may require engineering. Howe Lumber Company, Inc., and Howe Lumber employees are not structural engineers, and we do not offer any in-house engineering services. Only a registered and licensed structural engineer is a structural engineer. We cannot design, specify, or approve any engineering solutions in-house. Only a registered and licensed structural engineer can design, specify, and approve engineering solutions. Neither Howe Lumber nor any Howe Lumber employees can act as an engineer of record, nor can we act as an engineer of any individual components. We sell some products that may require specification and engineering, and some manufacturers and distributors may provide engineering for the individual components. These manufacturers and/or distributors cannot act and will not act as an Engineer of Record for a structure or project. Their scope of work is limited to individual components, and any specifications are theirs and theirs alone, not Howe Lumber's. Howe Lumber Co., Inc. shall have no liability for any engineering solutions provided by manufacturers and distributors.
